In May, China imported 310,000 tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, a year-on-year increase of 61.1%; the cumulative imports from January to May were 1.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 81.7%.
The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in May 2024, China exported 560,000 tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, an increase of 18.7% year-on-year; the cumulative exports from January to May were 2.56 million tons, an increase of 10.8% year-on-year.
In May, China exported 100,000 tons of alumina, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%; the cumulative exports from January to May were 650,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.0%.
